Oscar night is approaching fast. I make it a goal to see most movies nominated in the major categories. ”Man on Wire,” a contender for best documentary, chronicles Pillippe Petit’s mission to walk between the Twin Towers on a tightrope. The film recreates the pitfalls and successes Petit encounters during the seven years he spends trying to accomplish his dream.
Similar to an opening statement Nextpoint may create, the film defends Petit’s technically illegal act using newspaper articles, photographs, home movies, interviews, reenactments, and Petit’s arrest report. You can’t help but cheer for Petit despite his flaws. I would recommend this film as an example how to effectively use multi-media to tell a story.
Did you see that guy last night?!?! Seems like it takes a special sort to walk on wires. Psyched to see it!
Yea – Petit is crazy. It looked like he was wearing a leather tuxedo… not many could pull that off!
